POA

Nothing is more ‘Aussie’ than cooking a damper in a camp oven when camping, but did you know you can also cook damper on a stick? It is always so much fun to sit around the camp fire and slowly cook your own damper.

The group will break out into multiple small groupss, and work together to create their own damper masterpiece using the ingredients provided. They will make the damper dough, and then wrap their creation on a stick and cook it on the open campfire.

This activity is fantastic for learning new skills, developing confidence and learning how to make tasty treats. It is available every day except total fire ban days at most of our campsites.

How it works

Beyond the Classroom facilitators set the fire and get the coals ready, before student learn how to make damper. Students then get their hands dirty, making their own damper creation with a range of ingredients, cook it on a stick over the fire and top it off with butter.

On camps at Narnu Farm, butter from the butter making activity is often used. To find out more please contact our friendly team.
