The Beyond the Classroom team love bugs, animals, and wildlife! This activity is a great interactive program that can be run in any natural environment.
The students are armed with bug nets, and work in pairs, to find bugs and interesting things. They then work with the instructors to identify them with books, on the internet, and through photos.
At some sites including our Willow Creek Adventure Camp, Narnu Farm or Camp Illawonga, students will also try to catch yabbies and other creatures in the dams, creeks and rivers. It is a great all-year-round activity.
How it works
Students will be given nets, and magnifying glasses. They will see what critters they can catch and learn about whilst on camp.
